Jodeen Revere
MUSE: What is your vow as a teacher?
Jodeen: To act as a guide for people as they explore their own unique relationship with yoga. Creating safe and sacred space with them in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, where they can play, experiment, laugh and breathe joyously.
MUSE: Therefore, who is your student?
Jodeen: Since my class is a level two, my student has some yoga experience or at least possesses body awareness thru some form of physical activity. Someone who is seeking to find spiritual, emotional and physical balance thru their practice, not just exercise. Someone who is interested in "being yoga", not just "doing yoga".
MUSE: What do you think is the most profound aspect of the study of yoga?
Jodeen: For me, yoga is about experiencing our connection with the Divine, whatever that Divine is to you personally. When we surrender ourselves to the breath, the beauty of the asanas and tap into the huge universal magic energy, we are transformed on all levels and that ripples outward from us into every action we have. One of my favorite quotes is "When you fall in love, the world is full of magic. When you discover the Universe is full of magic, you fall in love with the world." Yoga is my magic.
